BD125X/1 Bowie & Dick Test Pack Chemical Indicator with warning sheet, designed to test the air removal efficiency of vacuum-assisted steam sterilizers. 100% lead free.

The Bowie-Dick Test Pack is intended for monitoring air removal efficiency in dynamic air-removal steam sterilizers operating at 132 °C for 4 minutes or 134 °C for 3.5 minutes. Please refer to the Instructions for Use for approved cycle parameters applicable in your country.

• Detects residual air in the sterilizer chamber caused by air leaks, inadequate air removal, or poor steam quality

Instructions for Use

1. Run a warm-up cycle to ensure the sterilizer is properly heated.
2. Place the Bowie-Dick Test Pack horizontally in an empty vacuum-assisted sterilizer chamber with the label facing upward. Position the pack at the bottom/front of the sterilizer rack directly over the drain. Ensure the pack reads “THIS SIDE UP” when correctly positioned.
3. Run the sterilizer cycle for:
   • 3.5 minutes at 134 °C, or
   • 4 minutes at 132 °C.
4. Remove the test pack from the sterilizer and allow it to cool. Check the colour change of the Type 1 indicator on the label.
5. Unwrap the pack and remove the test and warning sheets. Inspect both sheets for the appropriate colour change and record the results.
